Your day, told honestly

Weddings and traditional ceremonies photographed with warmth and patience — then delivered in a private gallery you will still be opening in twenty years.

What we photograph

Weddings first — and everything after

Weddings remain the heart of this studio. Around them sit the other days worth keeping: the ceremonies that come before, the portraits between, and the work that fills the weeks in between.

Our signature

Weddings

Full-day coverage from the quiet of the morning to the last song. Two of us where it matters, unhurried direction when you want it, and none when you don't. Photographs and film, delivered together in one private gallery.

A wedding, on film

Thokozani, photographer and founder of Stills by Thokozani

The person behind the camera

Hello, I'm Thokozani

I photograph the days people plan for years — and the small, unplanned minutes inside them. A grandmother's hand on a shoulder. The exhale after the vows. The cousin who cannot stop laughing during the speeches.

My work is unhurried and unposed. I would rather wait for the real thing than arrange a version of it. That patience is why couples tell me their photographs feel like the day actually felt.

Based in South Africa, and glad to travel wherever the celebration is.

Kind words

What couples say after

Thokozani has a rare gift — she disappears into the day and reappears with photographs that are nothing short of poetry. Our wedding album makes us cry every single time.

Sophie & James · Nelspruit, Mpumalanga · June 2024

We can't believe how perfectly Thokozani captured every emotion. She is so warm and unobtrusive, yet somehow she was everywhere at the right moment. These photos are our most treasured possessions.

Natasha & Luca · KwaZulu-Natal · September 2024

Every photo tells a story we didn't even know was happening. Thokozani's eye for light, emotion, and detail is extraordinary. We are forever grateful for her artistry.

Amara & David · Lake Umuzi, Mpumalanga · March 2025

From our first call, we knew Thokozani was the one. She understood exactly what we wanted — timeless, emotional, real. The photos exceeded every expectation we had.

Claire & Michael · Herb and Vine, Gauteng · October 2026
